Then arose The Stanford Inn by the Sea and Big River Nurseries, the Stanfords' California Certified Organic Farm. The inn's ancient apple and pear trees brought around Cape Horn provide shelter to the inns' llamas and horses.  A grand view of Mendocino village and bay is seen from most of its 33 rooms and suites.  In addition, there is a greenhouse-enclosed pool, spa and sauna. 

Innkeepers Joan & Jeff Stanford have truly provided an intimate retreat in keeping with the inn's heritage.  This AAA Four Diamond rated inn recently completed its new lobby, restaurant, exercise facility, and ten 2-bedroom suites, each with two bathrooms and two romantic fireplaces.  Wonderful breakfasts cooked to your order are served every morning.  Dinners might be inspired from our gardens, but they are not from our gardens. Dinners are served every day of the week.
