The La Jolla Bed & Breakfast Inn, originally built for George Kautz in 1913 and one of Irving Gill's finest examples of "Cubist" style architecture, was inhabited by composer John Philip Sousa's family in the twenties and is listed as Historical Site 179 on the San Diego Registry.
It is centrally located in La Jolla-by-the-Sea's cultural center offering fine dining, choice shopping and marvelous art galleries.  Only a block from the beach and steps from the Museum of Contemporary Art, the inn itself consists of 15 "elegant cottage style" rooms furnished with rare and beautiful antiques.
