This Mobil 4-Star/AAA 4-Diamond desert resort started as a 1937 adobe house at Burks Ranch, one of the first structures in Borrego Valley and was known as The Desert Lodge. The Copley family bought the lodge in 1960 and changed its name to La Casa Del Zorro. The resort is surrounded by the 600,000-acre Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, the largest single state park in the United States. La Casa Del Zorro's 42-acre property offers a variety of lodging options. Its 77 oversized rooms, suites and two-, three- and four-bedroom casitas speak softly of California's romantic past while lavishing guests with today's finest luxuries.
